Ladies and Gentlemen,
Sustainability is THE challenge of this millennium - from the shores of Fiji to the schoolyards of Europe to the narrow alleys of New York, people of all ages are campaigning for more climate protection. One designated enemy: plastic! Plastic is seen as a man-made symbol of the throwaway society - yet it is best to dispose of this prejudice, and for once without recycling!
Polyethylene, or PE for short, is one of the most sustainable materials in the history of mankind: resistant, versatile and 100 % recyclable several times over in an environmentally friendly way. One of the secrets of our PE films is their purity, which means that our films do not have to be incinerated as mixed plastics, but 100% can be recycled without any problems.
Substitute products made of cardboard or paper are an unsuitable alternative to our PE films. The production of cardboard packaging creates an ecological footprint due to CO2-intensive manufacturing, significantly shorter usage cycles and water-intensive production and recycling, of which our PE films would at most fill the big toe.
For us as a company, sustainability is not a mission, but a matter of course. Thanks to solar power, waste separation and recycling, we have been CO2-neutral since 2006, and we are also gradually converting our vehicle fleet to alternative drive technologies. What we do not sort out for good reason are sustainable and recyclable film products. We are proud of our sustainable packaging solutions made of polyethylene and want to reflect this pride with our own company seal. From now on, we will mark all our PE products with the 2pack seal and thus acknowledge the uniquely sustainable properties of this material accordingly: "100 % PE - We make film. Sustainable"
We hope you will join us on the road to more sustainable packaging - with 100 % of sustainable and recyclable polyethylene.
With regards,
Dirk Pollmeier
100 % PE - We make film. Sustainable!
Polyethylene is a thermoplastic that makes it possible to produce environmentally friendly films with a low primary and secondary energy requirement that can be converted into 100 % recycle let. In order to be able to fully recycle plastic, it is important to use single-grade plastic - which is why films from 2pack are always made from 100 % PEThey contain neither plasticisers nor stabilisers containing heavy metals or toxic substances, and no harmful substances are produced either during extrusion or during further processing of the films - the entire production process is environmentally friendly.
The label "100 % PE - We make film. Sustainable" is intended to take into account the unique properties of single-variety films made from 100 % polyethylene and to reliably identify single-variety, recyclable plastic.
